Makwell is one of the earliest manufacturers of Chloroparffins in INDIA (since 1965).
In the early years, Chlorinated Paraffin waxes acquired a poor reputation for their colour and low thermal stability. However, by employing modern chlorination techniques and the use of straight-chain liquid paraffin feedstock, chlorinated products produced now are water white and have properties comparable to those of the Octyl Phthalates.
There are seven grades within the Makchlor range, which are specifically recommended for PVC applications. These grades can be used as sole plastisizers in relatively hard products like flooring compounds but these used more as partial replacements for Phthalate or Phosphate Primary Plastisizers. Their use in PVC compounds help gain significant savings in raw material costs. The properties of finished compounds are not impaired and the flame retardance may be improved when Makchlor is included in Vinyl compositions.
The use of Chlorinated Paraffin as Secondary Plastisizers is straightforward and no oxidation occurs provided the compatibility limits are not exceeded.
Today, we have a wide range of Chlorinated Parafin suitable for various applications.
